This is Gabriel Afana….I’ve been at this board for nearly a year and a
half….but its time to leave. Just about an hour ago, I got into a major
accident when I fell asleep on the road. Spun out on the freeway after I
hit a pole, smashed agains the center divider….slid on the drivers side
for about 50 feet and rested back on its feet against traffic up on the
center divider. Car is totaled.
Thank God I am ok. I had absolutely no injuries…the car was
destroyed…all crinkled…..I thank Acura for making a car as safe as this
and I believe I owe my life to this. Either way, im ok now and I now have
the daunting task of figuring out what to do now. I thank everybody for all
their help and support after the last year and a half including my post
about my rotors warping again "WTF?!?! Rotors warped again!".

I just received a TSB/recall letter from Honda to have my timing belt
auto-tensioner replaced in my Pilot. It seems that the said component
can, due to a manufacturing defect, leak some oil from it which is to
dampen the oscillation.
But AFAIK, the timing belt and the water pump are closely related
parts and I recall the Pilot and the MDX already having had their
water pump recall during which many of the owners related that their
timing belt was also replaced at the same time or had to go in again
for it to be replaced because it started malfunction soon after the
water pump replacement.
So, I was wondering if it’s fair to ask my service dealer to inspect
my water pump as well if my timing belt was found to be leaking some
oil or was it was clear that it was not in the condition that it was
supposed to be in? What are you thoughts on this? What would you do
if this was your car? TIA!
Ok, so I took the seatback off my 03 TL-s drivers seat to lubricate out the
seat squeek. Now the clips that hold the seatback to the seat are broken.
Anybody have a suggestion where I can get the seatback fasteners. Dealer is
useless as usual.
Has anyone had a remote starter installed for the 2004 TL yet? Any
cautions, recommendations, etc.?
Hey to the list,
2000 3.2TL, Bose Stereo System. Two issues:
1. The rear window defroster is pretty slow in clearing the window of
condensation in the mornings (5-10 minutes minimum). Normal or not?
2. When the rear defroster is on, FM Stereo reception downright sucks.
Sucks to the point of listening to a CD instead of an extremely scratchy
radio. Anyone else experience this?
Thanks for any information on this.
Much Respect,
Genghis
Hi,
I just got a quote for a TSX (6MT, non-navi) lease for 36 month/12,000
miles per year residual value of 62%.
I had heard that the residual rates for 36/12, non-navi was previously
65%.
so, I am wondering if a) there has been a change to residual rates, b)
this is a negotiable item, or c) the salesman just made a mistake and
it should really be 65%.
Does anyone know?
Thanks, Frank
Anybody consider the SI over the RSX?
a penny fell into the top part of my shift gate.
where does it go? will it damage anything?
plus i need that penny back…it was gas money.
