'99 TL – Engine started like a lawn mower!

This afternoon I drove across town (about a 20 minute drive) and I stopped
somewhere for about 30 minutes.  Then when I left I started my car and the
engine was idling so slow (the very first line right after 0 RPM…id say
about 500 rpm)  it was about to die.  It sounded like crap and the car was
all shaking.  I noticed the only light left on my panel was the "TCS" light.
I did this for about 10 seconds and I tried reving it a bit while in park
and it sounded like I was trying to accelerate in 5th gear (if it were a
5-speed manual).  Then the TCS  light went off and the engine jumped up to
normal idling RPM (about 750-800 rpm i think).  I drove it around and I
tried it later and I noticed that the car kind of starts idling really slow
and clunky for the first second or two after I start it until all the lights
on the dash turn off (the TCS lastly).  Its always done this and its not
even bad (hardly noticable) behavior.  but today it took like 10 seconds to
have the TCS turn off and start running normal.  It didn’t do it the rest of
the day.  Any ideas????

RSX pricing

We went to the St. Louis auto show yesterday, and my wife sort of ‘fell in
love’ with the Acura RSX.  There are only 2 Acura dealerships in the St.
Louis area, so there’s not a lot of competition.  We haven’t hit either
dealership yet, but in general, are they being discounted any or are we
probably looking at probably paying full sticker?

The dealer scratched my new car

When I picked up my new car I noticed two scratches, 4-5 inches long, very
visible. I pointed this out to the salesperson. He started to buff the
scratch with some kind of compound and managed to get the scratches much
less visible, but they are still there and you can easily feel it with your
fingernail. The salesperson insists on keeping on buffing until you can’t
see the scratch anymore. My concern is that they will make the scratch
disappear by polishing down the clearcoat until it’s on the same level as
the scratch. And if so I may not see the scratch, but instead I have a
thinner clearcoat that makes the car more vulnerable to new scratches (and
less clearcoat to work with when I get new scratches). So it looks like I
have two choices:
a) scratches
b) thinner clearcoat
In both cases I feel like I’m loosing…

So what do you experts think?
Are my concerns about the cleacoat valid?
What would be a decent compensation from the dealership if we leave the
scratch and settle this in some other way?
