10w40 synthetic in my RSX by accident!

Like a fool, I decided to put 10w40 synthetic oil in my 03 RSX and didn’t
even think to look at the manual for the recommended oil viscosity. Then I
find out the RSX manual says 5w-30.  So have I screwed up my car???

pitted trim around rear windows 94GSR

The black outside trim surrounding the rear quarter windows on my
94GSR has faded and is pitted in several places. What can I do to
improve the appearance? Paint or something else?  Thanks! Mike

Timing belt tension

Hello all, I have decided to replace the timimg belt on my 96 Integra
after 2 years and 32k miles. (106k when bought) I don’t know the service
history of the car but figured its overdue.

Everything was going well until it comes to putting tension on the new
belt. Following the shop manual it says turn the crankshaft 3 teeth and
tighten the tensioner. Well after turning it the slack still seems too
great and the belt slips. Any tips on getting this bitch tightened?

I bought belt from Napa and their lookup isn’t very helpful as far as
part numbers go. A number that starts with 18 or 17 and doesn’t sound
like any engine type. I picked the 17 because it was cheaper and figured
it was for the non vtec engine.

navigation system

Close to buying a new tl.  One question I have is the nav system. I
have never had one, or even been in a car with a nav system.
What I want to know, is the following.

1)  What are the advantages and disadvantages if any, of having the nav
system in the tl,  besides the obvious of its intended purpose. I see that
having the nav system enables other things, but I am not sure.

2)  Is a nav system, really usefull for its intended purpose? How difficult
is it to use? In other words, in real life, and not for show, is the nav a
usefull, used device?

3)  I see the dealers near me, are hardly discounting a tl with nav, but the
ones without are discounted, why is that?

4) Does the nav system, help the resale value , say three years down the
road?

5) O>T.   Is the stretching and splitting of the seat leather a real bad
problem, that I am going to encounter?

 6)  I have been deciding between an infinit g35 awd as opposed to the
acura. The infiniti, definately has a better more controlled ride and a more
aggressive engine, but the acura, beats it out everywhere else.  Going from
a awd to a front wheel drive, am I giving up a lot?
I live in a big city and will be using it to commute from a suburb
into the city everyday. We can have a fairly harsh winter, and rain. Should
that be a deciding factor.

                   Thanks a lot

new model year?

Just a thought. Does anyone know when the new model year for the
tl comes out. I assume we are not too far from that, and maybee the tire and
leather seat issues will be addressed in the new model.
Also, do you think there will be a price increase, and if how much,
and would it make more sense to wait a month or two, since a 2005 would be
worth a lot more in three or four years then a 2004 would. It would almost
seem at this point, to be an economical thing to wait.
One more thing. I spoke with verizon today about the bluetooth. The
motorola 710 is the one they are going to use, but they dont know when.
Anyone know when this will occur. It looks like a very nice phone. I see
someone preordered one on ebay and paid over a thousand for it. I hope the
pricing is closer to 500 dollars or so.
Anyone have any input on my thoughts. It would be much appreciated.

Wow, look at this, another pc  zombified.  I’m guessin if you recently
download(clicked on a stupid link in a ng) and ran a program/script
off the web, you need to check to see if this is your ip address.
Your harddrive contents are fully visiable to the world.

Please don’t download programs or scripts from newsgroups, too
dangerous.

Considering the navigation system with a new TL

I am looking at a new TL, wondering whether to get the car with the nav
system installed by Acura, or finding a 3rd party.
I understand that you get the voice command system with the Acura nav
package. What else would I miss?

My coworker got an after-market nav system for a new Accord. For about the
same price as the factory price, got a nav system, DVD player integrated
with the LCD panel. He also got an iPaq with the deal (I am not quite sure
why)

TIA

Aftermarket wheels

I’m thinking of driving my RSX-S with the OEM wheels in the winter. This
will eventually pit the wheels. My question is: Will the resale value of the
car be depreciated if I put nice and much cheaper aftermarket wheels on the
car instead of a replacement set of OEM wheels?
