99 CL trans

I have been having transmission problems for many many miles and
finally went to see the dealer who delivered the bad news that I need
a new trans(auto) for a tune of about 4000. bucks. I have been told by
a few ex Acura Mechs that there have been many with the same problem
however Acura has declined me for assistance. Anyone out there who has
experienced a failing tranny at 88,000 ,would you get back to me asap
Thanks for any help

Acura TL A-Spec

Any suggestions about getting the A-Spec package?  Do anyone think this is a
good idea?

1990 integra 220k miles – won't start

I replaced the plugs (cause it was one of the few things I have the

skills for) and I found oil just dripping off of two of the four

plugs.

This sounds expensive.  I like the car but I have to draw the line

somewhere I guess.

any advice?

Home Made CDs in 2001 TL

Hey, folks!

I made some music CDs for the car. Some are compilations of stuff I
downloaded from the Internet. Other are copies of the originals I keep
at home. Most of the time, when I turn start the car, the CD player
cannot resume play. It seems to be trying to find its place, because I
can hear the noises it makes.

Could this be because I burned my CDs at 52x? I use regular 80min
CD-R.

Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be.

94 Integra "Maintenance Req'd" light

How would I reset this light? I’m pretty good about keeping up the
maintenance on my cars, so I’m thinking about just removing the bulb. But
before I do, does anyone know if anything happens if this light is not reset
after a certain period of time?

Thanks

How to Setup Ground Wire Kit

I just bought a Mugen Ground wire kit for my 1991 Integra. I know where to
put the grounds on but I can’t find them on the parts such as intake
manifold. Any one have a picture or could tell me where on these parts
they go? Any help would be appreciated.

Acura 3.2TL Transmission Recall Mod Question

I just had the transmission recall mod done last week.  The service
manager told me he did the optical 2nd gear check and it was fine.
Is the transmission oil replaced as part of this mod?  I wonder if the
optical check can be performed with oil present.
Does anyone know the details of the mod other than the description
provided by Acura?
TIA

Tranmission Fill Port

Can anyone tell me how to fill the transimssion after the recall? They
added the new oil jet for the 2nd gear through this hole.  Is it
critical as for as allignment? Is there a new oring or seal required?
I would presume that it can be removed easily, but don’t know for sure
on reinstalling and allignment.

Acura MDX brake vibration

I have gone through several Acura cars (99 TL, 01 TL, 03 TL-S), now I
have the 04 MDX. In all of them I experience the same exact problem —
around the 10-15k mark, at highway speeds I start getting steering
wheel vibration when braking.

My driving style is aggressive, but I do not use brakes much — I let
off gas in advance and do not tailgate. I pretty much use the breaks
in traffic, in emergencies, and in normal city driving (nothing crazy
there, I do not rush off at the green light and slam on the brakes at
the next red).

I have gone through about 15 cars by now, and Acura is THE ONLY one
that has had this problem.

A manager of the Acura Service suggested that it is my driving style
— I am saying "no", ’cause it has not changed.

I do not do anything other people do not do….

Has anybody else experienced this? Is this the new metallic pads that
are causing this? Maybe other vehicles have the same issue — I am
just not aware of them???

TIA!

Mediocre drivablity of 01-03 CL/TL 5-spd auto

Reliability aside, does anyone else get the feeling that drivablity of the
5-spd is not so great when left in D5?  The complaint that I have and have
heard from other owners is that downshift is sluggish and time consuming.
Hit the accelerator at around 50 mph to merge onto a highway torque
converter unlocks, makes a commanding sounding roar, downshifts to 4th,
decides that 4th is still to high, downshifts to 3rd, and then accelerates
wonderfully after what seems like an eternity.  Using D4 and letting it
downshift only once, or using the manual-ish mode is ok if you know you are
going to need quick power.

The new Daimler 7-spd will be able to downshift multiple gears all at once,
but current Chrysler 5-spd’s aren’t as bad as the Acura anyway.  Actually,
the Honda Accord for which the 3.2 CLS/TLS is based on seems a bit better…
go figure.

5 speed tranny’s can certainly get a bit better gas mileage, but there has
to be a better alternative than manual mode.
